just a little rain...

One thing I love about rainy days are the different umbrellas that appear.  An umbrella can be an external statement of fashion. It can add to your style and creates that extra pop.

Rainy days are lazy days...

I really love rainy days.  Rain is such a rare occurrence where I live in Hawaii, so when we do get them I never fail to grab my camera, slap on my favorite lens (50mm) and snap away.  Here are a few of my favorites, enjoy!

Children and Youth Day.

Back in early October, Hawaii had it's annual Children and Youth Day at the State Capital.  Dinah of course hit me up to accompany her and Alyssa on this adventure.  I haven't been to a Children and Youth day since my brother graduated from high school, so of course I went and spending more time with these two ladies before they leave to New Hampshire is always a plus.  Here are just a few of the moments caught with this little one throughout the day.  It was so much fun that she knocked out instantly on the ride home.  I was a bit upset that I didn't have any decent pictures of her sleeping though. Anyways, till next time!

It's a boy!

Post WAY overdue.  Happy Halloween everyone! I know these aren't Halloween themed but hey,  I've had these photos sitting in my hard drive for a while and finally came around to posting them.  My dear friend gave birth to the most beautiful boy this past September and here are my favorites from visiting her at the hospital.  And yes, I did use an RX-7 for the weight for the balloons my friend and I brought. xD Enjoy!

Second time around.

A friend was visiting from the mainland and asked if we could do walk around to shoot things and automatically this place popped into mind.  I wanted to do a second round of shooting anyways.

A day at the park...

Today I was able to spend some time with my best, Dinah and her daughter, Alyssa. We were on a mission to find a park with swings, because that is Alyssa's favorite,  but to no avail there were none.  We just settled for a newer park that was recently built and soon found out that we could add slides to that list of Alyssa's favorite park features.

Simple pleasures.

Some times you just need to forget about the big things and just enjoy the simple things in life--like flying a kite.

Water colors.

I've always had this thing for sky shots, especially when an array of colors appear during the transition between her different phases.

Town adventures Pt. 2

Pow Wow Hawaii, WOW indeed! I was really sad that I was not able to be at the actual event but just walking around and gazing on the beautiful pieces really did it for me.  I was fortunate to have a friend give me a mini tour of some of the pieces and share who the artists were.  It's such a humbling experience to be surrounded by works of people who inspire you.  It was so much fun walking around trying to find different pieces, it really was a treasure hunt.  And the riches you find truly are worth keeping.  Here are just a handful of pieces I was able to capture.

If you live in Hawaii or plan on visiting soon, I would definitely recommend to stop by Kaka'ako and take a stroll around to find as much pieces as you can.  I am definitely planning on taking another trip town side so I can try to capture even more.

Town adventures Pt. 1

Yesterday I decided that I would go on a photo adventure in town in search of the Pow Wow Hawaii art done all over Kaka'ako in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Boy was it fun! Here's just a tad bit of the beginning of a few of the pieces I was able to come across of. Enjoy!
